My smart phone grave yard is becoming problematic and I'm considering selling off some of the devices. A friend who was interested in the Blackberry Bold asked me whether I thought a Data Bundle would be the same as having BIS... and I couldn't say outright that it was.

So whats the general opinion out there - is BIS any more or less efficient or cost effective than having a data bundle loaded on say an Android or iPhone?

It depends on what you are using it for and the speed of your device.

i doubt that you will find a bundle that will get you the same amount of data as a 3g BB for R60.

If you don't use that much data then I suppose it could be better than a bundle. If you message and email a lot then you cant really beat it.

Android phones are great but the cost of maintaining all of the services they offer are just unreal. Everything you do requires data. In my opinion, BIS is a lot more cost effective than data bundles.
