1st the CellC BIS on my SO's BB Bold 9790 acts up intermittently.
now my MTN BIS, BB Bold 9780, was on GSM till now... :mad:
BB BIS giving issues lately ? :confused:

Had the same problem when i woke up this morning my BIS was off (MTN), all i did was reboot my phone its working 100%.........for now!

Vodascum been there done that never again, 1st Time it went down from 07:57 - 09:54 (Last message sent).

BIS seems unstable as CellC also giving these problems for over a week now.

Luckilly SO upgrading to S4 and then I'll be using my S3 :D
 
Sometimes if you select 2G, works better than 3G.
7.1 doesn't give you option of 2G alone and if you select 2G+3G option, then it only uses 3G, so downgrade to 7.0, and I use 2G, works for me.
 
I'm on 6.0 and it's on 2G, only switch to 3G when needed.
3G has been unstable for a while in some areas so that's not the issue.

Anyway, it's been working fine now since 10am

2G / EDGE should still use BIS

Recently it does seem to be using alot of airtime..

when EDGE is displayed in caps i.e EDGE then it is using BIS if it is displayed in small letters, edge, you have edge signal but BIS is not active..

same as 3G when you see the BB logo then you using BIS if the BB logo is not there then you on normal 3G in both insistence's you will get billed for bandwidth used.
 
Tx No Wonder BIS is useless even for just messaging yet i pay the full R59 every month as part of my contract.
