Hi guys, sharing speed tests for anybody considering Bitco. Their speed is excellent but the support team require some attention regarding their communication skills.

Local speed test on www.saix.net. Note, I am on the 5Mbs package. Take note of the ping!!

International speed test through www.testmy.net. Take note, I got 201% faster than my average on 4Mbs ADSL.

Finally, torrents. I tested this around 17:00 in the afternoon. The highest down speed I got was 590kB/s.

Good idea, planning on getting in the future.

5Mbps uncapped for R899? Any day.

But what worries me is their throttling.

I was concerned about that too but according to their FAQ and confirmed with their sales agent they throttle based on usage. So if you max your bandwidth for a hour solid they reduce your speed by 50% until you back down for an hour. There is some shaping on torrents from 6am to 6pm as well but my torrent downloads run from 10pm to 6am in any case so that didn't bother me.

Hi All,

Thanks for the great reviews, just though we would post a speed test from our offices.
We have a 40Mbps line using a wireless metro ethernet connection and it works like a bomb :)

This test was done over Wifi with other staff using the internet at the same time I ran the test.

It's 17:16 on 10/10/2014 and there is currently a lighting storm with light rain. My Bitco 5Mbs connection is stable with expected speeds.

I've been playing Diablo 3 and its awesome! seldom I get a slight jump but overall compared to my ex 4Mbs ADSL Bitco is by far the beast internet connection I have ever experienced.

I have tried to get them to change a quote from porting 2 phone line to porting 1 phone line, i guessed this should be possible in less than month.. wrong
Anyone tried Shycom? maybe their support side is better, still uses Bitco.. I have asked for a quote.

It's Thursday evening in Johannesburg north around 17:45pm. There is lightening with heavy winds and light rain. International speed tests have dropped slightly but not by much.
