BitCo Consumer Review

How long did it take from after the LOS test? The LOS guys didn't say much after the inspection other than that "head office" will ring us up.

Perhaps I should have said LOS/Installation.

As I understand it, they will be coming on site doing an LOS test and than installing if LOS is decent.

Correct Deadmanza

We install at the same time we confirm Line of Sight. In a few cases we confirm LOS and then only install on another day.

We have a good software to show the topology of the land and our RF planning can fairly accurately tell if a link will have LOS or not.

Why would you come back and install later?

I am taking a day off for this so really hoping its done on the same day - LOS dependent of course.

Hi Deadmanza

On very rare occasions, the install team isn't 100% certain so they take photo's back to a senior engineer who can decide. This only happens on about 1 out of every 20 links.

Garth,

Any plans on expanding rural coverage, say between Pta and Hartbeespoort?

I so want to sign up for this. Just don't want to be the guinea pig. I need good feedback so I can sign up for it.

Actually Garth I have a question, if installtion goes smoothly tomorrow i.e. LOS, etc. when would I be able to use the link?

I can only talk from my own experience . My install was done on Friday last week . Yesterday Bitco came out to change some settings and this morning I received a call that handover was complete and my router is on it's way and should arrive today as well . So if all goes well I would say Friday :) . I will report back on performance tomorrow

Really really hope this is the case, if its going to take longer than Friday will be a little unhappy.

Can you please advise who they are, as I have zero Bitco signal where I'm looking?

Sure, comtel was one that had great service, but if you cant get bitco signal then go to wapa.org.za and fill in your info where it says find a provider and you will get contacted by people who service your location.
