BitCo Consumer Review

Hi Guys,

i am going to start up the other two threads on the Forum for the new FUP update and BitCo news

We are busy activating some new high sites so i will be giving you updates as and when each site goes live

I will also be spending some time in the next few days explaining the new FUP and the planned roll out for all broadband customers

Mike

Eagerly awaiting those !
I see that mwskuzzy started a FUP update thread back in October ...

That's good, quantitative feedback, koeksGHT ...
Looks like the line maxes out (and gets FUPped) at around 4.9Mbps (489kB/s), but can sustain about 3Mbps (314kB/s) for a longish time (not sure how long).
What's the timescale on your graph ?

Those spikes are from YouTube buffering, not quite maxing line out tho, max gets to 595kbps, throttled is 295kbps. The graph is a minute or 2 of use

Well I got "the call" just now. I have no LOS so getting BitCo, or any other WISP for that matter is a no-go. What is my next option? I'm also heading over to search other threads but thought I'd hear from you guys too. So, when Telkom is being useless, and you live in a ditch, how do you get fast reliable internet?

Satellite, bit more expensive but reliable. Check YahClick

Thank you, I signed up for the 5MB package for 12 months, if it works the way it is advertised, moving to 10MB

I'm about to ditch my temperamental ADSL line in favour of Bitco. Seems they have good coverage in my area, and being high up on a hill, should help me.

Can anyone shed light on the lead time from application to working line? Need to cancel this Telkom bollocks.

It is time to get the Generator in running order again. Apparently, over the festive period, we will be experiencing more time sharing episodes with the electricity.

Hi
Once you put your order in, they require a lead time of 2 weeks before the come out. Unfortunately any orders placed after 20 November will only be addressed in January. When they do come out and install, it is 2/3 hours and done.
Ciao
