Has anyone that’s on bitco business fibre had to request extra IPs from them? I Just got quoted by Bitco R2500 per month to extend 1 public ip to 5 which I find insane.

We pay vox R35 per extra IP for some customers, xneelo charge us R29 for 5 addresses at there DC.

Yes we are with Bitco business. It's crazy. R2500 for 5 ip's.
Just be careful adding IP's evergreen's your entire contract all over again. i.e the period starts from scratch.

IPv4 are expensive to buy, the world has run out. ISP's must audit usage and reduce allocations.

While this is true globally it's not the case with Afrinic and it costs around 2000usd for a year for /24.

There is a global shortage, Afrinic is simply managing the allocation carefully.

The must incentive to want the extra IP's and to manage them better

At 2000/USD for /24. The OP wants /29 which is 8 IP's
They mention 5 plus the 1 for Gateway and another 2 for network and broadcast, the smaller you slice up, the bigger the wastage.
So 2000/256 * 8
The OP doesnt mention what the upgrade gets, it may be a different router. What tech is behind the link, which may need a different concentrator access.

Many ISP's are battling to get more IP's and there should be a discouragement to have more.

What's your use case for multiple public ip addresses on a business fibre line?
