Hi and Merry X-mas!

I’m trying to source a comprehensive list of all BTC accepting merchants in South Africa.

Is anyone aware of anything beyond the list on Payfast’s site (theoretically they should all accept BTC as a consequence). That list is
https://www.payfast.co.za/online-merchants-who-use-payfast/.

Bonus points for a merchant with a decent Apple selection (Takealot is sadly lacking in this regard).

(Apologies if this has been answered before - my forum searching skills clearly suck in that case!)

Many thanks!

While we on this subject, anybody know of an accurate list of BTC ATM's

I know there is only one in JHB in Kyalami a hair salon
But is there an accurate list anywhere?

For miners etc wanting cooling and Aircon solutions SIRAIR in Midrand ,Fourways and Bloem will be accepting BTC and Eth

With the high transactions fees I don't see any point in buying with BTC?
Whether its BTC or other Crypto. Merchants accepting crypto is good especially for miners who don't want to cashout earning s in rands and face potential tax liabilities. They can buy items with ETh..BTC or LTC..

Thanks! Via that list I found BidOrBuy and from there I came across https://ibaronline.co.za, who take BTC themselves.

Hopefully they're legit, otherwise I'll take it as a learning lesson :)

Incidentally, the payment experience - via PayFast - was very pleasant and relatively quick.
At checkout, you're given a BTC wallet to send the funds to with a countdown timer (10 mins) during which the transaction needs to 'clear'.
In my case, it cleared within max 5 mins! The quoted rate was around R230k/BTC which I thought was quite good, and the fee converted was R400, which I thought was also quite good considering current congestion and the speed with which it 'cleared'.

(They also take BTC via BitPay, but I reckoned they would've given a far worser rate than Luno which is why I went with the PayFast integration)

Mc Donald's to be accepting this year in the US I believe. I wonder if it will be an international move...

Buying a Lamborghini and only pay $20 tx fees....bargain!

Buying a $6 burger with $20 tx fees....no so much.

Once Lightning is implemented, these high fees will be a thing of the past.
