Anybody else tried to send BTC from Valr? I keep getting a message that withdrawals have been suspended for 23 hours.
Sometimes if you change your password or enable crypto sending valr/Luno, they put a temporary suspension in case your account was compromised

I've made no changes though. I just deposited my monthly buy in(not sure of the terminology)

Not from this platform.
that's likely it then, the more security conscious exchanges will put delays / checks in place especially for the actions that most often is targeted by scammers i.e. withdrawals or crypto sends

the first time you do it, or enable it, or re-enable it after it was disabled, or the amount is much higher than you typically do, or you connect from a new phone, or you've recently reset passwords or 2FA etc etc etc

those are all red flags and the delay is built in to give them time to take a closer look and prevent fraud just in case that's what is happening

it is highly inconvenient for customers who are completely legit and don't have their account compromised ... but it is the last line of defence in cases where your account was in fact compromised

Thank you for your input, this is exactly what I have learned from them and other sources. Appreciate your reply!

Not new news, but I didn't know that ETC support on Coinbase will also be suspended.

Coinbase Wallet to End Support for Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum Classic, Ripple's XRP and Stellar's XLM

The company took note of "low usage" as its reason for no longer supporting those tokens.

I highly dislike ETH clones though I have to give credit to BNB.

Odd that XRP support is being suspended since Ripple is still on good course. I like both the XRP and XLM team, and both present good use cases. Time will tell how the two will be impacted by the now coming digital currencies. I have an idea that Coinbase might support the digital Dollar, time will tell.

Telegram CEO Durov Plans to Build Crypto Wallets, Decentralized Exchange

The messaging app is pushing ahead with its buildout of crypto infrastructure.

...

Bolstered by Fragment’s strong sales, Durov is setting Telegram on a course for deeper crypto build-outs. He said the company will build a decentralized exchange (DEX) and non-custodial wallets that could reach millions of users. Telegram is already a go-to messaging app for many crypto traders, giving it a captive audience right out the gate.

The statement is the first confirmation of Telegram’s direct involvement with integrating TON blockchain into the messenger. Earlier, Durov spoke of the blockchain development as a community project Telegram was just happy to watch. The system, earlier known as Newton and Toncoin, is one of two rival projects that grew out of the initial TON concept developed by Telegram; both were developed by the community of supporters, however, only one ended up with Telegram’s official recognition.

Ripple was a surprise yes

BCH is a poor BTC clone
XLM is a poor XRP clone
ETC is a poor ETH clone

so the writing has been on the wall for all if them for ages, they should go the way of the dodo eventually

Ripple though is taking on regulators in a big way to stay in the fight, I wouldn't hodl it, but also would not bet against it

Apple...

You might have noticed you can't send NFTs on Coinbase Wallet iOS anymore. This is because Apple blocked our last app release until we disabled the feature.

Apple’s claim is that the gas fees required to send NFTs need to be paid through their In-App Purchase system, so that they can collect 30% of the gas fee.

For anyone who understands how NFTs and blockchains work, this is clearly not possible. Apple’s proprietary In-App Purchase system does not support crypto so we couldn’t comply even if we tried.

This is akin to Apple trying to take a cut of fees for every email that gets sent over open Internet protocols.

The biggest impact from this policy change is on iPhone users that own NFTs - if you hold an NFT in a wallet on an iPhone, Apple just made it a lot harder to transfer that NFT to other wallets, or gift it to friends or family.

Simply put, Apple has introduced new policies to protect their profits at the expense of consumer investment in NFTs and developer innovation across the crypto ecosystem.

We hope this is an oversight on Apple’s behalf and an inflection point for further conversations with the ecosystem.

Apple - we’re here and want to help
