I think you are correct - that is the issue. I dont believe that they realized, at the onset, the amount of funds that would leave the traditional banking system to crypto markets. Now they are trying to use hard handed tactics to get rid of these organizations, who we have to give some credit to for revolutionizing the payment and transaction space, and start they own CBDC and establish greater control, for themselves - again.
This. It also didn't help that SBF made a mockery of the SEC, right under their noses. Him and Gensler were having meetings and I'm pretty sure SBF testified in front of congress on how to regulate crypto markets a few months before the blow up lmao

Anyhow, looks like Blackrock and Fidelity are looking to file for a Bitcoin ETF, something no other "crypto" institution has been able to achieve. I wonder what the implications are for Bitcoins price? Interesting year ahead....

And now...?

In 2017 when the CME (biggest futures exchange in the world) launched Bitcoin Futures trading in December everyone thought that it would blast BTC to the moon. The opposite happened...

The day it listed was the first day of painful downward spiral into a long bear market.

Are you doing DCA?
Do you think the S&P500 breaks down?
Does BTC hold above 26.5k?

I think we bounce from 28, maybe surge to 35, then come back down to put in a (hopefully) macro higher low.

I'm looking at 26.5 as strong support, then 23, then 20, then 16, then 12. Doubt we get to 12 unless there is another banking crisis. I'm hoping for 16k, but I'm losing hope. As far as I'm concerned, even 23k is a gift with these fundamentals.

Are you doing DCA?
Nope, sold all my BTC. Risk is too high here for me personally as I only trade BTC with leverage. Can't go broke taking profits.
Do you think the S&P500 breaks down?
Yes. It's only 7% below ATH and very high probability of recession.
Does BTC hold above 26.5k?
That's the extreme fear level around there imo. I am expecting $27K to be support (diagonal drawn from $16K lows) and will have some buys ready between $26.8K and $27.2K Will probably spike below to flush out longs but if it doesn't get above $27K very fast and hold I will buy $25K.

Agree. From where I'm sitting, 27K seems to have pretty strong support.I certainly would be very happy with a decline to 23K but don't think that would be sustained - more likely a spike.

I'm too classy to send you an invite link (I don't want my post deleted).

AFAIK, Luno is much bigger than VALR.
