BitTorrent is making a comeback

While peer-to-peer file sharing has been declining thanks to the popularity of services such Netflix, TorrentFreak reports that BitTorrent traffic is on the rise.

Citing data from Sandvine, the report stated there is a clear upward trend in BitTorrent traffic in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

So the jist is because people don't want to pay for multiple streaming services to get what they want to watch? It also could be the issue of blocking some regions from things, like for example our Netflix doesn't have all of the Expanse and DSTV has never shown it, there are TV shows a lot of other countries never got like Lost Girl as well which was good.
So in SA to get Handmaids Tale and Game of Thrones you'd have to have Showmax, but for House of Cards you'd need Netflix and possibly DSTV.

I think it is more due to the rise of pirate TV streams using the protocol.
