BJJ - Gi - getting a Gi made vs Shop bought!

Hi Guys,

I'm starting BJJ classes again after a few years of not rolling.

I've only ever done no gi and will now be doing gi classes.

I've got the choice of buying a gi like: http://www.shensports.co.za/Pages/P...randID=13&ProductID=436&GetPage=1&GetRange=12

OR

Getting one made by a ZA company - they're willing to make 500-525gsm gi for +-R600 or a 875-925gsm gi for +-R900.

This is way better value than the SMAI 450gsm gi posted above.

Any thing I should look out for? I'd quite like to suport the ZA company on this, price seems decent and gsm count is way higher, but i'd like to make sure the gi meets regulation - any bjj guys care to comment?
