As the name suggest, I am seeking some help and advise in terms of this method.

Essentially the place I rent doesn’t have solar heating or any way of heating the pool which is pretty much not usable as water is still pretty cold. I asked the owner if she is willing to put 50% for the solar panels but she ain’t interested and water heat pumps are too expensive to buy and manage.

While doing research, I came up across black hose trick which can increase the water temperature by approx.10-15 degrees celcius. I have watched few more videos and don’t research and it actually works

I can buy all necessary equipment for under 1000-1500ZAR or so…. What I am looking for is someone to assemble and fit it for me and I am happy to pay the labour cost.

below is how it works for those who are not familiar with it…

anyone know of someone who might be able to do this job? If so, please let me know and I will reach out accordingly…

will be highly appreciated as my kids desperately want to use the pool!! Thanks

I can vouch this works
Just buy the cheap black hose tubes though
The thinner the better as it allows the sun heat to enter to the water and heat it up
Class C or something, it has a name

A friend of mine did this donkeys years ago and pool temp went up 10 degrees

It's theoretically possible, you're just gonna need a pump that is strong enough to move that water through the pipes, but it really shouldn't be a problem.
Gonna look ugly as sin though.

I can confirm it works, even if it looks really unsightly. And it is not a difficult job to do DIY. A roll of 40/50 mm black pipe placed on top of the roof or even on the ground to circulate the water through and it is done. If placed at ground level, even a 600W pool pump will circulate the water fine. If placed on the roof, a 750W pump and non-return valves might be required to keep the system primed. I did it by just using a second pool pump and a normal pool valve set to circulate the water. It is not a good idea to push the water through the filter and use one pump for both tasks.

Thanks everyone….. I have screwed every DIY job as My brain isn’t built for this (finance only) and specially given my hand is recovering from another accident, I don’t want to take a chance to do it…

any recommendations on if anyone does it for a cost would be appreciated….thanks

Sorry I live in waterfall …. Near mall of africa!!

Did this myself.problem is water must be pumped for long periods of time to heat the pool and this also costs.7.5 kw pump to roof and back slows pool cleaner though

Any decent plumber can do it. Ask around on your local whatsApp community groups.
