Activision grossed $365,000,000 in the first 24 hours of the BlOps release according to Fox News Channel.

That's more than most feature films make on opening week-end.

I saw that on GS. It is freaking crazy! Who says there isn't money in gaming?

Movies are not directed by Bobby La**** Kotick.... also... R20 for movie ticket, R450 for BO.

This is something i've never understood.. They make so much money off of games but they dont spend that much on making them. The most expensive game ever was GTAIV at $100m to make. Which is nothing compared to what they make. Imagine if they spend a lot more on development..

I would think that with the money that games make, the industry is going to continue to grow rapidly..

I just wan to say Thank You to you dumb ignorant people that supported this title. As you can see from the start unless your a retard that that Activision only cares about money and not giving you a quality game. You pay to be the beta testers for them every single time and the complain about how the game lags and shutters. And the people at Activision smiles all the way.

Thank you to one and all that supported this BS release of a game.

What's something like that cost to make, in comparison to a film? Guess the lack of 'stars' can make it a bit cheaper...

Black Ops voice actors: Ed Harris, Gary Oldman, Topher Grace... Yea... you must be right huh.

How do you know how much it costs dude? Bare in mind these games are not slapped out in a matter of weeks, i would imagine there are hundreds of people getting paid monthly salaries to work on the game and if you think about a game like COD what it costs and how much entertainment you get out of it calling it expensive is rubbish.

I am going out tonight and i can almost guarantee you i will blow more than COD BO cost and piss it out tomorrow morning :D.

lol you arn't taking all the factors into account. The amount of games that fail to make money is massive. So while the cost isn't as high, the likelihood of failing to make any money is very high.

Those are budgets so i'd assume they take monthly salaries into account..
I agree with you, I think games are great value for money. The amount of entertainment i get out of games is well worth the price.. I just think that there's so much money in the industry, we'll start to see developers spending more and more on making games.

The gaming industry is growing fast

they will learn soon enough that this title is just a quick cash cow... FPS developers have been screwing over the public since the release of Mw2, Bc2, Moh etc... just alot of BS and no actual proper game. Apparently Bf3 is going to be hectic, but again, not holding thumbs.

They will keep pushing out the cr@p, because people keep buying it, and so the world go round...

CoD has a formula going for it, they discovered this in 2007, no way they are going to change that 3 years down the line. I don't see how MW2 or BC2 screwed anyone over, those were great sequels.

Just play go play something else. Because the way you talk you don't play any of the mentioned games, because that would make you a retard, right?

I dont know in what backyard you go watch movies but normal Ster Kinekor classic cinemas are more like R48 per ticket and another R50 for drinks and popcorn.

Really i cant understand why people complain about a games price.

I wont support this game because the game came out with SUCH a media hype. R469 for a ****en computer game?. Those oke's who complained about them making so much money, life has a way of dealing with the self enriching ****s. Same thing with SC2 media ****en hype, havent played the game, never will. It didnt look that revolutionary.
