so black or white?, which color(s) is your ide ?

personally i prefer to work on a black background, goes good for those long ide starings. currently on brads dark visual studio (mines just a little modified form that one) vs2003 lol i had to do manually one by one, but vs2005 at least was the original and lastly vs2008 just updated one.

...previous ide shot

Yes its obviously XNA, i do my proof of concept stuff in C# before moving to C++

Why? It's all nice and white, like Mother Microsoft intended it to be. I tend to stick to the basics.

Some guy on the 'net somewhere... said:
Never underestimate the power of whitespace.

That guy on the internet clearly didnt have much artistic sense, it is a known fact that black background is more aesthetically pleasing and less harsh on the eyes. I stay at a white background feels like my eyes are going to explode, black not so much

White - although until recently it was a dark background. I changed it so it blends in with the other programs (like Firefox ;)), so it's not so obvious what I'm doing. :D

Dude, white-space isn't necessarily "white" space... :p White space is also referred to "negative" space and denotes the unused space between text/images/layout elements. You should utilize white-space to focus attention and to ease information overload.

I just quoted it because it seemed to fit the mood of the discussion!
