Anyone know if Vodacom or MTN are planning to make the Blackberry 8130 available in SA. I would like to upgrade but would rather have the 8130. From my view the specs are just marginally better than the 8110 but still would be nice to have the latest.

IIRC the 8130 is EVDO (CDMA) so it wouldn't work in SA - the local GSM equivalent is the 8110 with GPS. The 8120 has Wifi in place of the GPS.

Thanks, explains why I get blank stares from the guys at MTN and Vodacom, OK so its 8110 for me because I want the GPS, you guys seen my other question ie: is there any difference between the GPS maps on the Vodacom and MTN networks.

I'm not sure of when it will arrive, but its well worth the wait when looking at its spec sheet. Yep its a bit taller and wider than 8100series but its worth the extra dimensions, its got a lot more to offer than a 8110P and yet its just as thin as the Pearl. If you're not in a rush i highly recommend you wait for the Bold or you'll be sorry LOL.

Not sure - I've got the 8100 and even though I have an external GPS Vodacom wont let me use the navigation software. :( In Vodacom's favour is their pricing - r69pm for unlimited access. Not sure if MTN has matched or bettered it yet.

I'm also waiting for the Bold. :)
