Blackberry 8520 Sim problem

Hi~

I recently got a blackberry 8520 and then my sim card is a 16K.
When I insert it into the phone, it displays "Initializing failed" (at the place where it should show the service provider name.), so then I troed a 32k sim card of vodacom, and it works perfect. So I'm just wondering is it the sim cards problem or?

BTW...it is an upgrade, so I used the old sim card that they gave me like 2 years ago...

So I'm just wondering if anyone encounter the same problem as I do.

I once had to do a sim swop for a customer who upgraded to a bb, from d900.

Sim worked fine in old phone, not at all in the new one.

Nope, the simcard in my phone is eight years old, one of the first 16k cards working fine as I type this reply on my 8520.
