Blackberry 8700 - POP/IMAP mail?

Is there ANY way to use a Blackberry 8700V to check either POP or IMAP mail without a blackberry server or service? (Seeing that MTN wants to charge R159 per month for that service!)

Maybe via webmail? Why not cross over to Vodacom and pay r69 for unlimited data? Tack it to a 4u Contract that costs nothing per month.

You might be able to use a non blackberry apn and a browser such as opera but you'll still be paying for data.

imho R69 is not too much to pay for unlimited data but maybe thats just me.
