The Blackberry 8800 is the perfect business tool. Its SMS, MMS, e-mail, Internet, GPS with Blackberry maps, organiser and even instant messaging makes it an all-inclusive multi tasking machine, allowing you to take your work with you wherever you go.

It is a beautiful looking piece of equipment on the outside with a scrolling ball (mouse) and a well-laid-out keypad. However, the inside leaves a bit to be desired. The operating system is typical of Windows and very practical, which generally means ugly. Though the features are useful, the phone itself will take some getting used to.

It's tough to type on the qwerty keyboard without two hands, and finding the numbers will take some time. Unlocking the keypad is almost impossible with one hand or one finger and scrolling through the vast list of applications using the scrolling ball can be a challenge.

But the battery life is incredible - it lasted more than three full days of usage without needing to be charged. Bluetooth usually saps the life out of a phone, but the 8800 manages brilliantly. Not only does the Bluetooth not chew up battery life, but it actually works well on this phone. It easily connects to various Bluetooth devices and provided no hassle with setup.

A downside, though, is that a fair amount of setup time is required if you want to make full use of all the phone's features. You'll need to call your service provider to set up the Internet, e-mail, instant messaging and anything else that comes as an extra. If you are willing to take the time to do this, the phone is a must-have.
