Blackberry 9000 vs 9300

Hi all

I currently have a Bold 9000, but the battery is not great. Do u think its a worthwhile upgrade to 9300 or is it really a downgrade (I know the screen res is lower). What wud u do??

Yep, they are hard to come by and most are super old stock. Having said that, I don't understand why as they are used in the 9700 too!

Just buy the BlackBerry "9300" go hunting for it now if you can still find a handset for R1999

Comparing the phone on GSMarena the 9000 looks to me like it outspecs the 9300, anything I am missing?

9000 is a bold.. therefore better specs.. but older software...

Bold series is better than the curve series, but the 9300 is better than the 9000, hardware in some cases and totally when you compare software, the 9000 cant even load the latest OS5 let alone OS6.

Eh? My 9000 is on an official 5.0.0.1036 (which is quite recent) and I see /1049 is out now too. As far as the 9000's memory limitations go, these later builds are getting better. Boot up with just under 40MB and it drops to 35-30MB after 4 or 5 days. Far better than the .822 days of needing an almost daily reboot

On topic though - 9300 is quite nicely specced if you can handle the downgrade on the screen and, the keyboard (though that is a personal opinion). Plus the bonus of OS6 which is the only reason I'd want to move on from my 9000.

Why not get the 9700? Mtn have it for around R260 on Anytime 100.
