Blackberry 9300 Trackpad scrolls up by itself

My BB 9300 is almost two years old and for about a week now it just scrolls up when it wants to. Sometimes its fine but when i restart my phone its fine then after a while it happens again. I'm just trying to isolate if it is software or hardware. I really don't want to send it in atm as i am using it alot for work.

Commonly the issue is called Ghost Trackpad when the optical sensor picks up movement when there is none and seems to go bonkers
