Blackberry 9800 Torch

I'm due for my upgrade next week - I know it's too much to hope for, but I hope it will be soon (although considering that neither network has stock of the Pearl 3G it doesn't look good).
 
Looks nice, I just can't wait for OS6 to come out for my 9700! I wonder when the first firmware will leak?
 
I'm due for my upgrade in 2,5 months. Hope it will be here then.

The hardware specs are slightly disappointing and don't come close to any of its rivals (HTC Desire, iPhone 4, Samsung galaxy etc.) but then again blackberry doesn't rely on high end hardware specs as its selling point.
 
Think the screen is disappointing... Not too worried about the processor though. There is no point in having a million ghz processor if the OS you are using doesn't require it... Also couldn't care less about having an hdmi port of a cell phone.
 
Sorry but the torch is one funk ugly phone, the 9700 is more stylish
 
But the OS can grow and then what? There are two things that doesn't stack up to the HTC Desire: processor speed and no hsdpa modem, just normal 3G. But then again the desire has a cheap feel to it that I don't like. I am prob going to get myself the BB anyway, but BB will need to up there game if they want to keep me in 2 years time
 
No the torch doesn't have a hsdpa modem, just a normal 3G modem. Go look at www.gsmarena.com and click on the blackberry section. It list all the specs there. Sorry I couldn't give a direct link, on my bold.
 
If you look at the throughput you see the difference in speed between the desire and the torch. Hope it is wrong though
 
That is good news, so the only thing worse than the desire is the processor speed and the touch screen resolution.
