Blackberry and Networks

Hi,

I have a blackberry on a Vodacom Contract. (Blackberry 8520, Vodacom Model).

If I wanted to use this same blackberry (with BIS and BES email) on MTN instead of Vodacom, would it work by just activating the BISBES on MTN or are the settings pre-locked into the phone for Vodacom Email only?

Hi Aharon,

It should work. I recently bought a Vodafone branded Storm II on prepaid. When I inserted my MTN sim worked perfectly. Best suggestion if you still nervous trying inserting an MTN sim - if this works then BISBES would work fine

It's a simple request to activate BIS or BES on your MTN SIM and you will be rocking and rolling

Because the PIN number is linked I have on occasion had to request that the service be disabled on one account before successfully moving it to another.

If I remember correctly, they're no longer allowed to lock phones, or am I wrong?

I had an MTN branded Storm 2 which works on both Vodacom and MTN. I used to have a Vodacom branded Storm, which also worked perfectly on both networks!

Thanks to all for the responses. My concern is that the phone will not know to automatically redirect for email setup to mtn.blackberry.com instead of the voda site.
