To activation or NOT to activate is the question!
I upgraded two of my lines this weekend at MTN Service Centre (Clearwater) to Blackberry 8520 devices on MTN200 with BIS services included.
I was told by consultant that he would activation the BIS services.
Sunday, neither lines had BIS, I made at least 4 calls to 808, by 12h00 ONE line was active
Monday, the second line was still NOT acitve, I made another 6-8 calls to 808
Tuesday, the second line was still NOT acitve, I made another 5-6 calls to 808. After phoning 1555 data helpdesk to get a better picture I was told to phone 808 again and get them to DE-ACTIVATE BIS and re-activate it again to get past the node-to-node failure experiencing.
Wednesday, the second line STILL NOT ACTIVE, phone 808 and asked for supervisor and got rest-a-sure that it WILL be working now!!!!!
Thursday, STILL NO LUCK with send line ........ What NOW! WHERE TOO!
What concerns me most is that MTN has a 7 day OBF policy, now if BIS is NOT active for 5 days how on earth will I know if there is an OBF issue with the handset because the handset is useless with BIS.
Hmmm what the use spending R2.00 a day for your sweetie when you must send the sweets via pigeon post.
If by any chance someone would know of a miracle worker at MTN ... please ask them to assist!
