Hi,

so now friends of mine are trying to persuade me to get a BB.. only thing a BB has going for itself imo is the Bis server.. that is.. when its online..

So with this bis, you get free internet access to the internet via your blackberry.. uncapped I presume? checking and reading mails and browsing on facebook?

Also I want to know, when I go to europe, will I be able to use the same Bis network thingy as much as i want without paying their horrendous data prices?

TIA

Sheesh dude, do a forum search first! All of these thinngs have been discussed countless times.

I'll answer all your ?'s: yes, all free yes, you can use it but roaming will apply so no, not free any more. Blackberries do have better compression so data will be less, but could still be horendous. Standard data rates apply. Wifi (if you can get open Wifi) will allow you to connect to BIS bypassing the network.

That's a little harsh considering this was the one major downtime in years :/

Id you want a real reason NOT to get, it'l be the speed. Although free, I find it incredibly slow ... I'd rather pay for speed

Personally I don't really get that you are too keen to get a Berry - why listen to your friends?

The BIS is uncapped but not free, you pay R59pm extra for the service

Thanks troll.

No one ever claimed it to be free.

Its a service, you pay for it and you get unlimited (but restricted) internet.

*free internet access included* with the BB service. Some contracts include the BIS so yes its free internet on the contract

Now people who pay for every megabyte can't really understand it.
