Hi!
I have a BB Bold 9000 and am trying to connect to my TomTom OneXL. The bluetooth connection is fine but the TomTom cannot connect to data services. No amount of support from TomTom has helped so far (keep on chasing my tail). Anybody else with this problem? Maybe somebody solved this problem?
Thanks,
D

My best guess is that you need to fill in the network (mtn or voda) data apn settings (but be aware that you will be charged for data if you do this). Why not use Garmap on mtn or Satnav on Vodacom both of which are free?

Hi,

I have a simular issue. I need to update my tomtom map using my cellphone connection but is unable to connect. I can not update via my tomtom home due to some other problems.

It asks me for the following and what I have typed in:
APN: vodacom
username:
Password:
IP address for DHCP: Automatic
DNS Server address: Automatic
Dial: *99***#
Login script: ?

Not sure what the login script is though but when I continue I get: "Unable to set up your wireless data connection."

If anyone know how to resolve this, please help.

thanx

Blackberry works on BIS and it can only Teather via a computer using the desktop software, unless you can install your BBDM onto your tomtom you will never get it to work. The phone itself cannot function as a stand-alone modem so using the dial up settings will not work.

Just as a side note, you will not be able to use your Berry's BIS to do the update for free.

Also your APN is wrong, its supposed to be internet, try changing it, but as i said the berry cannot work as a stand-alone modem so without RIM software to control the connection it will not dial up the way you are trying.
