Hi

My blackberry is two weeks old and when i woke up this morning it was stuck on the loading screen, the progress bar just hangs on about 3 quarters of the way.

I have removed the battery + mem stick and replaced but it still loads 3 quarters and gets stuck.

I took it back to MTN and got told to wait up to 6 weeks for it to get fixed , this totaly sux as its not even a month old yet.

Has anyone had the same problem? , what did your service provider do to fix it?

Had mine for 2 weeks now also. How long are u waiting? It's reconfiguring and eventually boots up. Mine sat for 15mins other day after installing new apps and rebooting... Try wait a bit longer before panicking and hard rebooting when it takes long.. Patience

Well i left it for about 4 hours before i took it back to MTN and it had not moved even slightly.

had the same problem about a month ago on my dad's blackberry 9700.
apparently it has something to do with downloading a corrupt app or something... the solution to this is to download the latest firmware for your device and restore the device to its default settings. you will lose all your data and contacts and will have to re-enter all the settings.
you can do it yourself or Vodacom charge around R600 to do it.

Then that wouldn't be too hard. If you've done a backup before then you can selectively restore information vis desktop manager so no need to re-enter everything.

yes make sure you regularly backup your device to prevent losing EVERYTHING!
i used a programme called JL_CMDER to wipe the device. a quick google search will help you.
had a problem with email after the reboot but solved it by resetting the service books via the mobilemail site http://www.mobileemail.vodafonesa.co.za/

I tried hooking the phone up to my pc to back it up but the PC suite could not detect the phone as it was not on so i have lost all my stuff :( , I guess it could be dodgy application as i did download two apps from crackberry the day before :(. I just hope if they reload the software it solves the issue permanently because to have to keep sending the phone away for repairs will seriously not be cool.
