I want to delete the previous owners settings/details etc from this phone and put our own info on it. Which is the easiest way or only way to do it, must I reset it to factory settings/default and if so what will be lost of our information?

Thank you
Baie Dankie.

Do a security wipe, you can choose to keep the applications or to format the whole phone.

The BB 8520 says under the DATA section that it has no "speed", what does that mean?

My daughter just got a secondhand BB 8520 but we did not get the usb cable. I asked on Gumtree and someone wants to charge me R130 or so for the cable, what should I be paying if I have to buy one? Are there similar cables we can try?

Not all BB's take the same fitting we have come to find out, that's the freakin' problem. The Bold does not work on the Curve.

Yoops.. my bad... I thought they all used the micro-usb.

I have PLENTY of cables here... let me see if I can find one that will fit the bladdy phone.

Hey Hey

I have just tried this adapter on Lorraine's BB Curve 9300... and it works.

And if I check on a BB accessory site for a cable, it says;

NEW BLACKBERRY MICRO USB DATA CABLE CURVE 8520 8530 8900 9300 9350 9360 9370 3G

The 9300 replaced the 8520... I am sure it will work with J's phone too.

Why the backup boet, you have me worried now?

Ok no probs with me, any news on the home movie yet?

Agh no... he is still looking for the little super 16mm film reel... there are still boxes and boxes and boxes... it is here somewhere he says.

The micro-usb cable fits with the 8520, 9800, 9780, 9900, 9790, 9300, 9360, etc. I'm using the same cable I got with my 8520 with my 9780, and my husband's 9800 and 9790.

really??

I must check then myself as I was not the one to check and both my daughter and wife said it did not work so I took their word for it even after we discussed this yesterday I did not check because I know the older models (I think it was the 8310 or some funny number) did not work on the 9780. The funny thing is after they said it did not work we discussed why they would make similar phones but the connections are different.

Thanks man I will check later when everyone gets home, if it works then they are sorted.
