Blackberry bold & Sim card

HI Guys

I hope this is the right forum to put my question in. I've just upgraded my package on MTN (on Wednesday actually but supposedly it is active today). And with that I got a blackberry bold. However when I take my sim card out of my old phone and put it in the new phone the blackberry says "sim card error". It works in my old phone though and it says 3g on the sim card itself. MTN is not much help, they keep on sending me to their shops and the shops keep on sending me to the business call centre. And there was all sorts of excuses that it didnt work because my package was in the process of being upgraded. Im so frustrated I actually feel like cancelling my contract with MTN. I’ve never had such bad service by them before.

Anyone had this issue before? What did you have to do to fix it?

I'd appreciate any assistance.

Apparently the sim card does not make good contact, so I added a piece of paper between the holding bracket and sim card. At least I can use the phone now.
Still being sent around 1808 and 1555 to get services activated.

Dude I suggest you go back to the store and get your Sim swapped to a WIB simcard. I also have a BB Bold and have tried two 3G Sims which didnt work, so I settled for a WIB Simcard with no more issues.

Went to the mtn service provider by my offices and well they are totally useless. First they dont have sim cards and aparently I have to fill in a whole bunch of forms again to get my services activated, but yet when I call the call centre they did it for me just now. They say though that it will take 2 hours, which is probably a best case scenario and wont happen. So I'll try again tomorrow.

Thank you for your assistance. I filled in the forms on wednesday so I should have my internet access by now. I applied for the BIS services. Now I am just waiting for my new sim card to be activated.

this week was a bit woes, so that is why I am only replying now.

Will be checking everything tomorrow, if it is not working then I'll let you know.
