BlackBerry contract help needed.

Hey guys.

I am going to be taking out my first contract phone at Vodacom on Monday, BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300. Now what i would like to know is that if i update my OS from the standard 5.0 to 6 at home via the internet, will it affect my contract in anyway? Also SHOULD i update it? Does it offer a big improvement in your view?

Doesn't affect the warranty is any way.
Biggest advantage for is tabbed browsing on OS6. I'm browsing this on my 9300 using the mobisite and atm I've got 7 open tabs.
Other sites with pics take up too much memory but this is awesome.
