Hi...my company is using BES and wants to charge R600 for each user it adds on (i.e. each user that they have to set up to receive work mails).

Is this excessive? What are the approximate costs involved per user?

Thanks...

They want to actually charge the employees to add them onto BES although they work for the company ?
OMG now I have seen it all!

Lol. You should be demanding compensation for being in contact all the time...

That is ludicrously expensive...
As a side note...never...and i mean NEVER, connect ur personal phone to BES.
the IT policies cannot be removed....you can give a blank policy, but it cannot be removed through normal methods.
You have to do some serious work to get ur BB back to original...

+1.. I agree, its a mission to take your phone off BES. Not even a wipe will remove the security policies!

The R600 is what one Client Access Licence cost to buy from Blackberry.

The IT Dept. say the cost needs to be passed onto the relevant Dept.... I also gasped in amazement as I can't see it being anywhere near R600 per user.

That makes sense then if the deparment gets billed for it you'll probably just need to motivate.

U sure about that? I remember the pricing being quite a bit less than that

Blackberry Enterprise Cal-Single User $88.00

You can now get BES Express thou which is completely free software and CALs
