BlackBerry has its groove back

Really...? Really really?!

They went away and devved for 18months, only to show us a UI that STILL looks horrid, is still less functional (you don't put small buttons on a touch screen device... ever), it died in 2009 together with the stylus for very good reason.

And the best part is the logic behind "Our company is falling apart and our product sucks, so let us spend 18 months developing a camera".

They most definitely do not have their groove back. I do agree that this was their last roll of the dice, and if the final product is anything like what we've seen here, they're doomed.
 
Failed to mention that Rim is guaranteeing developers $10 000 income on apps and if they don't make that, rim pays them the deficit.

It's going to take them much more than the little features mentioned, and with the os still being months away from release, meaning they have a lot more catching up to do in the future than now. Each day that passes is a day lost to competitors.

Just trying to remember if I've ever looked at a cellphone pic and wished I could scroll through to find that perfect shot....

What a pretty looking OS, but if RIM wants to survive they need to work on their hardware. They build crap. BBs are made of junk. Slow processors, useless GPSs, small internal memory, crap cameras, badly placed radios (my signal dies if my pinky just touches the top of my Storm2) all leading to a lagging interface. Not to mention the click-touch screen which is just a fail. EVERY single person I know with a Storm or Storm2 has issues with the click mechanism which just keeps failing.
 
Is this article really trying to convince us that BB10 can compete with Android and iOS?

And that Hein, in his 3 months, had an impact on the development of BB10?
 
That predictive text on keys is kinda cool

But BB10 is far behind with it's "app store", I don't think it can catch up quick enough.
 
One of RIM’s strengths with BlackBerry has always been the tiny details. Heins mentioned the “D” (for delivered) changing to “R” (for read) in BBM as something that is a “little [bit of] magic to BlackBerry users.”

Whatsapp is still a lot better for me. :) and it has better looking smileys. :D

Maybe it is time to upgrade? The Storm 2 is 2.5 years old and a lot has changed with BB since then.

I am using a Curve 9360 for BBM and even though it can't touch my SGS2 the quality of the phone is a lot better.
 
BB10 is looking mighty fine. Can't wait to see more. And the camera app is too tight. Saw the DJ app as well, too nice! I love tinkering with roms but sometimes you just want something that just works. I'll keep my Android, but I'm definitely saving up for a BB
 
hrm.. only cool thing i saw was the push to the tv? screen and the predictive text showing up on keyboard. Time will tell if they get it right but i'm gonna sit it out with iPhone while i watch and see their fate unfold.
