Blackberry Internet Service Coverage

Just wanted to know if the blackberry internet service coverage map extends from major centres? I'm currently working in Grahamstown and considering getting a crackberry but only if BIS is functional in the sticks. Or is it a case of as long as one can receive a data signal you're fine?

As long as you have GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA coverage you can use BIS.
