Blackberry m600i woes

Hi guys So my sis has this M600i and saw it had blackberry internet support so she went and bought the R59 blackberry bundle. Problem is now she cant connect with the bb net settings which should be working. Is this a problem at Voda's end not having knowlage about this fone's bb capabilities? Any help would be appretiated Thanks Chris
 
OK...did some googling. If you are refering to the discontinued Sony M600I, then please follow the link below. You need the Blackberry Connect software. The phone does not support it out of the box.

You do this at your own risk etc etc. The phone will not be covered by the Vodacom warranty anymore I am sure due to age...so be sure you know how to do it.

...also, if she did it thinking she'll be able to use BIS to browse the innernetz, she can't. Email only solution.
 
Why would she not be able to? It added a Blackberry internet settings and uses the BB apn? It does say Blackberry Internet solution tho?

Blackberry connect on non-blackberries ahve limited function, your phone is not a blackberry the apn settings dont mean squat.
The connect software addon controls the BB function not the handset itself and it only supports:

Push-based wireless email access
Wireless e-mail synchronization
Attachment viewing and downloads

No internet browsing at all, the phone is not a blackberry so only the functions supported by the connect software will work and anything outside the connect application will require standard network settings.

It is not a blackberry so the handset itself which is the anp settings you are changing cannot and will not ever be able to authenticate itself on the BIS server, not unless you can fool it into thinking its a blackberry and assigning itself an authentic Blackberry pin number and load all the required service books, the simplest way to this thought would be to actually buy a blackbery.

Sorry to say it bud but you just threw R59 away.
