Hi everyone
I have a BB 9300 on MTN and running version 5.0.1.41 IM.When i recieve a picture via instant messaging I get 3 options Preview,Accept or Cancel.
When i accept and if the picture is say over 150KB it takes rather long for the entire pic to download.
Above the pic it shows how much has already been received.Sometimes it takes over 8 Mins to receive the entire picture. Is this normal or is there a setting somewhere?
When i send the same pic to a Vodacom phone, the pic is there almost immediately after they accept.
Thanks in advance.

Its totally Dependant of the connection of the sender. Your 3G means nothing of the sender is on GPRS, 8min is a bit long i admit but the pic sending is essentially p2p it goes from 1 handset o the other and only starts uploading on the senders side once the receiver has accepted it.

Id be happy to help you do some test as i know mines def not that slow, add me to BBIM my pins in my sig and we can have a look see with edge and with 3g because 99.99% of the time m 3g is off, y waste battery if you don't need to

It happens with me also. But a friend sent me a vid of about 3 meg the other day and I switched the phone over to 3G mode and he also...the download happened nice and fast.

Thanks for your replies.Smaller pictures say below 100KB is almost instant it's the larger ones that causes this issue.Could be related to MTN.
PS:I don't have 3G coverage in my area.

Well converge could be the problem, MTN could also, but unless the sender is using 3G to send it wont make any difference on your side. For images under 100k it sends them automatically thats y they receive instantly, sometimes it wont even bother asking you to confirm it will just receive it.
