Blackberry Messenger problem adding contacts

Hi there

I have a new Bold 9700. Certain people that I send my PIN don't receive my invite to BBM (even when they send their PIN to me ). They do chat with other people so I don't think its because they don't have a data plan.

Any ideas?

I've tried the obvious - deleting, resending, adding PIN # to contact in phone book, sending from that, sending from email, etc.

Have you gut the latest BBM Message software?

Yes sorry - should have added that I've upgraded to the latest BBM client.

I don't know what version the problem contacts are using.
