So i tweeted Vodacom, MTN and Cellc.

Vodacom tweeted end October, and Cell C tweeted November...*happy dance*

As usual, no response from MTN!

Cannot wait to get my hands on this device!

P.S iSheep not allowed to comment ;)

I really like the look of that phone. It's just so different from everything else.

October 21 on Vodacom, I heard from someone in the know. My girlfriend's upgrade is waiting for me... :D

I sure hope so. Placed an order for Z30 as an upgrade as I did not know when the Passport would be available. I might just wait on that one now. Do you perhaps have an idea on price range on contract?

BLACKBERRY PASSPORT (INCL BBM TEXT) + TOP DOG VOUCHER @ R549 PM (R250 + R299 Subs) on Smart M.
Smart M includes 120 anytime minutes,300MB data and 300 SMS with Vodacom.

I just saw a Blackberry Passport...!

Saw a rep with one and immediately started a chat lol!

He confirmed local launch is this week, so they are training store cellular staff currently.

It is not a flashy device. It's basically a square screen with some keys...rep was able to hold in one hand, but don't try typing like that lol!

Finish is neat and it's solid...not flimsy. It's a serious piece of kit.

He couldn't advise on availability of accessories.

Cash price for handset similar to S5 he said, so I'm assuming 9-10k.

The Blackberry Assistant software does not process commands quickly...what personal assistant software does. It is accurate though.

It's instantly recognisable! Keep an eye out for it!

Please send me the iPhone pricing please :)
Preferably on a Smart M

PR fail if you ask me...

Just a follow up on my previous post...

Its seems there is no marketing drive/engin behind the Passport for SA.

I phoned around this morning, Cape Town area, to ask the Vodacom shops if they know when stock is due.

3 out the 5 asked, what is the BB Passport? They are not aware of it, 1 just cut me short and said, it hasn't been launched in SA yet. The last one responded by saying the system says mid November in JHB.

I'm somewhat baffled by this, aren't the stores trained in advance with new device arrivals?!?!

You would think, especially now, that there would be a massive push to get this device in the hands of SA customers?

Poor launch coverage last week, misinformed and untrained sales consultants, this is definitely NOT looking good!

I am very frustrated for Blackberry's behalf...
