Blackberry Protect

Not answering the question - but how does it do it?

Does the SIM need to be in the phone - so you'd send 'trigger' to your SIM?
Does it need to be on BIS/BES? If an idiot stole it and used it as a normal phone, could it be done?

The 1 i use is called Lookout Mobile Security, its free and works well, contact backup/anti virus/track/remote wipe. Smart Gaurd also works, has more features but has an annual licence fee.

@Dolby Personally have not tested the wipe function, i quite like my data where it is but i would assume it needs a sim card in else there is no way to access the phone. I have tested the tracking, it uses A-GPS so its not really accurate, but at least u will get a better idea as to weather or not its really stolen or fallen under your car seat. For this it does have an additional function, Siren sends a signal to the handset and it is 1 hell of an ear piercing siren. The thief will **** himself, animals will scatter and people will wonder.

You can find both of these apps with a quick search in APP World, SmrtGaurd would be the better choice, that is if your willing to spend $45 a year, but it does have Anti Virus, Anti Spam, wireless backup and data wipe, remote tracking, sim lock (sends an alert to a predefined number if an unregistered sim is inserted) and quite a few more, check it out HERE.

Try buddyguard from blackberry app world. Also works well.

His title is a mere description, he is looking for something similar that is currently available.

I am using WheresMyPhone pro from the appworld. I tested it and it works great!

hmmm. ..on my Bold, if I make use of the password protect feature, it gives you an option to set it so that should a perp take it he has between 3-10 wrong password attempts (you can set it how much you want as well as the time out before the phone locks with password) and if he gets it worng it will wipe the phone.
