On 702 this morning the editor of the Star mag mention that they have a BB Storm as a price, and he was proud about the fact that they have it 5 days before the launce

What’s the HYPE have you had a really good look at the specs I am not a huge fan of the poison berries however it looks nice but still under spec, and the touch icons on the screen are way to close together I don’t really think I’d pay for push email when apple has it at no charge. But RIM still has the best signal.

Either way you're paying. The charge is just levied by the network operator in terms of data. The advantage with the blackberry is you pay vodacom a flat r59/r69 per month for unlimited email, browsing, etc.

No hype, i'm a NOT so proud owner of a Iphone and tired of waiting for the N97. Mabe the Storm is the answer

Still dont think you'll be happy i may be wrong the browser levied by the network is limited to use on the device, and only the device paird with that sim. for a Touch screen phone only to have 65k cls is poor why not look at the SonyEricsson X1 seems HTC made it i guess they are really kicking them selves iv set a few of them up really nice phone good business tool and a solid phone not plastic. Microsoft apps are more usable than on a Storm.

Hmmmm... I played with it in December last year in Cape Town when RIM showed it to me. The closeness of the icons are no issue as an action requires a physical press (called SurePress) to create an action - the screen is in effect a large multi-motion button. This is a first. The "multi-motion" means that if your fingers are on the screen and only the finger that presses and tilts the screen in its direction creates an action. BlackBerry is really moving forward and this one will challenge the rest, including the iPhone.

DISAGREE - gave up on my X1 after a week of trying to forgive it for being a very bad attempt at challenging the iPhone. It's a good device but not worthy of any greatness. BlackBerry apps are much better - the Sony Ericsson panels fail.

And lets not forget that with Vodacom BlackBerry you one pay ONE FIXED monthly data charge for all phone email and browsing. Prepaid pay R59.00 and contract pay R69.00. Don't ask me why the difference but those are the prices. And... full doc editor, Facebook app, GTalk, Weather apps, free GPS for life of DEVICE not contract.

just saw the vodacom advert for the blackberry storm... pretty flashed the phone up for like 2 split seconds. But i must agree with Bundy2005 the phone is under spec'ed and based on reviews from pocketnow.com it was shipped with some issues on freezing and not as responsive as an iphone.

Personally there still is no match for the iphone... but i reckon the pre palm stands a better chance against the iphone and it looks better than the Storm.
