Hi,

Was in a cell phone shop 2 days ago and the salesman mentioned that the keypad was slow flat which made it difficult to type

What are your thoughts?

Held the torch was was quite hard to type on it but it will take time getting used to it compared to the bold series. Since the keybord is smaller

Was in a vodashop over the weekend, and did a side by side comparison of the Torch vs Bold 9700. There is no difference in the size of the keyboard. Only drawback on the Torch is that the top row of keys are close to the "bottom" part of the slider. Other than that, the typing experience would be the same on either phones.

You might find that due to the slid, the top of the phone becomes top heavy making typing on the keyboard a little hard to do. The reviews of the phone though are all very positive, so I think this is a non event.

It is all a matter of perspective - I got the torch, my first Blackberry and I find that the typing experience on the keyboard is excellent, but that the touchscreen Qwerty is not as good as some of the competitors, but one does have a choice.

was a bit difficult in the beginning, but now use to it. Type like a motherF now :)

I second this comment .... the predictive text (even slang) is amazing .... i can type on the screen and keyboard lightning fast ....

i prefer the screen as you dont really have to be accurate it changes the words for you ---- like its readiing your mind ....LOL

Although i have read on many reviews that the keyboard is "slightly" smaller... Suppose it doesnt make a difference though :)

I've played around with the Torch this afternoon. Whoever says the keyboard isn't nice dont' know what they're talking about. The Curve 8900 is nice to type on and the Torch feels even better.

I've done lots of typing on my Torch today since I got it this morning. I can't complain at all about the keyboard. Being used to a Curve 8900 I must say, this is a massive change.

I Agree feels much better.Didn't evens need time to adapt to it.
