BlackBerry's Browser Really Does Suck

Still worth the little frustration in my book with the unlimited for R59 price tag...try the Bolt or Opera mini browsers too.

I couldn't stand the BB browser when I just got my BB. Previously I only used opera mini. For some reason opera doesn't do it for me on BB (never thought I'd have anything negative to say about opera). But as time went on I got used to the BB browser and use it most of the time now (never thought I'd have anything positive to say about the BB browser). I'd say i use opera 10% of the time, BB browser 60% and bolt 30%. I've read somewhere that when OS6 is released around september its going to have a totally new browser. So use bolt until then.

The 1 to be realeased with OS6 is going to have tabs

I've got to dislike Opera 5. The damn accelerated cursor is extremely annoying, and there are a number of bugs - for example, I can't type a URL into it.

Bolt, on the other hand, has improved vastly. I only wish I could make the default font size a little larger.

Claymore u can make it larger. Once bolt app is open press the menu/BB button go to preferences click on magnification and choose what size you want. I figured that out after squinting for a few days whenever using bolt.

Agreed. thats why i'm using Bolt now.. its much better. You can view full pages and have seperate tabs etc

Sadly, the max is 3X. Not big enough to read when it's in my car holder...

I tried out both bolt and opera. I then promptly deleted them and went back to the built in browser. They are even worse than the blackberry browser.

It's not that bad... Having said that mine packed up last week and refused to open any links (i.e. you can open Google but not click "Search"... Super frustrating... At first I thought it was a sneaky ploy by MTN to reduce my browsing lol). I installed the updates for it and now it's fine again. Anyway my previous phone was a N95 and my BB browser is a million times more user-friendly.

Once you get used to it the BB browser is okay, obviously it could be better but I like the shortcuts and it's faster than opera and bolt for most websites (assuming you know how to play with the Java settings).

I used to use OM as my main browser, but now I use the BB browser, and Bolt (when it doesn't freeze at 20%), because OM5 has been giving me a whole lot of problems. The BB browser isn't actually as bad as many people say it is.

Freezing at 20%, mine does the exact same thing! And its super annoying, lol! But doesn't happen so often. But then again I mainly use the BB browser.

Lol, that's still nothing! Sometimes it loads to about 5%, then it just stops, as if nothing happened! Super annoying is still an understatement! Lmao! That's exactly why I use my BB browser most of the time.

I also like the BB browser:) if you have your settings right its fast and user friendly!

BB browser works great with the right settings and the keboard shortcuts are very well set up. The Storm's big screen is nice but I prefer my Bold for browsing because of the shortcuts.
