Blackburn have signed Porto striker Benni McCarthy on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old South Africa international has previously had spells with Ajax and Celta Vigo.

Also, Quinton Fortune just signed for Bolton. Why are these players not in the South African National setup? Surely their experience would be valuable.
 
Nope, don't watch African football. They're obviously "good" enough to play for European/UK clubs, you'd think they'd be of some use to the South African squad.

Oh well.

So you can never be able to say who's suitable and not suitable for Bafana Bafana.
 
Oh right. Just use the PFL guys, they're on the same level as Man United. Obviously they are suitable.
 
I personally feel that any 2nd devision club like Man Dolphin or Mitchells Plain UTD can kick Bafana's behind. They are total bafoons.
Bennie on the other hand is pure class. He has doing very well in the league for Porto. I think it is a gr8 move for him, to grow. He will get maximised game time to improve his game. The change might do him the worl of good.

No it's not, just because you play in a certain country doesn't make you an automatic choice for the national team. And my comments are based on facts, anybody who watched Benni in action for Bafana knows he was embarassingly dissapointing.

If he's as good as some claim we should have been able to make a distinction between a "quality" player like him and the local inexperienced boys but alas as if his perfomance was not bad enough he passess the ball to an opposition striker who says thank you very much and scores. shocking!

PS: I wish him all of the best in England but at national team level we've had enough of him.
