Now this is what i call service for you. I have to post this as a warning too all South Africans.

Approximately 9 months ago my mother signed a new contract with virgin mobile against my recommendation. True to to my word they stuffed something up, unfortunately not something small.

The very day we signed the contract they mistakenly put through a buy out request so instead of the ~R200 that should of been debited, they submitted a debit order for just under R2000, being just before pay day fortunately such a high value was not available, they proceeded to submit the debit order 2 more times eventually freezing my mothers account.

I contact them and dealt with Leighton Smith and as it was only something like 10 days they agreed to cancel the contract, and collect the handset at no cost to us.

Now a few weeks ago my mother applied for an account at Milady's and was turned down for poor credit record, as it turns out Virgin Mobile reported her tot he ITC as a slow payer for being now 9 months in arrears on this contract that was canceled by them and we don't even know the number that was assigned to the line.

So just be forewarned, Virgin Mobile has now proven that the only required quality for being employed their is stupidity.

Don't you have some sort of documentation proving that either the handset was returned or the contract was cancelled? Take it up with ITC.

They must sort it out, not going to waste my time on their stupidity. Posted a similar complaint on hellopeter, they have been given till close of business tomorrow to resolve the matter.
I am just posting this here as a warning to others.

Complaint was logged, theyw ere very helpful on Friday, but still waiting to hear the final outcome.

Apparently it was yet another system error, the system continued to generate invoices without actually adding them to the print or email listings and apparently also automatically reported it to the ITC.
Good thing they only screwed up a Milady's account app, home loan application was planned for next year, would of been a lot less fun for virgin pi$$ing me off then.

Ok Virgin mobile has now decided they are no longer communicating with me, we have tried calling the help desk and are unable to get through to anyone. They are ignoring all my complaints on HP and have to date still not sorted out the matter or provided any of the promised documentation.

My next step is to go to the newspapers as well as file suite against them for defamation of character, anyone here know anyone who specializes in such matters, blemishing a 30 year old impeccable credit record and then not fixing it is beyond my limits of tolerance. I would like to seek legal council before proceeding to the papers though.

Thanks for any assist guys.

I would also recommend that you get in touch with someone at Carte Blanche.

Fully!

I signed a virgin mobile contract not too long ago... after 6 months I took out a second contract with Vodacom and droped the virgin simcard in the back of a draw...
The call drops... the 5 hour sms waiting time... dont even get me started on how the contract was sold to be promising hsdpa speeds..

Never again

Good luck CranialBlaze, wish you all the luck bud

They harassed my vodacom-raped ass all day today. Not one, not two but three firkin calls today. The third chick sounded kinda-hot-in-a-Telkom-kind-of-way.

We finally this week virgin mobile sorted their **** out, got a half-a$$ed apology letter with assurance that they are continually working on improving service.
Clearly the guys doing the training need go go have a look at the dictionary for the word improvement as so far they simply complying with all its antonyms.
