I'm hoping that someone will know how this works.

I have a Telkom premium combo wireless DSL router.

Intrusion Detection is enabled. Periodically, it adds the IPs of web sites I am accessing to the Blacklisted Hosts list, which has the effect of temporarily disconnecting me from the web site I am viewing.

At first I had no idea why a web site suddenly became unavailable to me. It took me some time to discover that my own router was in effect blacklisting me from those sites.

The solution is to click the "Clear Blacklist" button on the premium combo's webadmin interface.

However, what I want to know is WHY this is happening in the first place?

Why is my DSL router interpreting packets received from these IPs as an attempt to intrude on the router?

It doesn't happen all the time. I haven't worked out the pattern yet.

I am wondering if anyone else has this problem with the router and / or can explain why this is happening and / or explain how to fix this.
