Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to go about this? I have tried to blacklist a device that was bought from a wholesaler and they say I have to go to my network provider which is Afrihost. When I ask Afrihost, they tell me I must go to MTN, when I go to MTN, MTN tell me they cannot find the device being used on that number.

I have no idea what to do here

It could be that the device is no longer active on the network.

Which Wholesaler did you use? Could it have been a grey import?

Im checking now, although I highly doubt it is a grey import. MTN can see all devices that were connected to that number, but that was before it became an Afrihost number.

MTN would be the custodian of the info..-the log on process and authentication of device + sim would occur on their network...Afrihost is just another MVO, different business rules may be in place, when it comes to numbers attached to a MVO? You would want to be speaking to someone in their Risk department, if you getting pushed from pillar to post.

If you had a google account attached to the device, you can access IMEI info by logging into :

https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard

Click on the android icon...and it will give you :
