Hi.

Does anyone have proper advise as to what happens when eksom goes down? Please keep personal and political thoughts aside.

No prepping. We f#ked anyway.

Lightsout.

How are we supposed to advise you about post-apocalyptic life if you don't want to hear about prepping?

Was hoping for someone with any info about how they go about turning stuff back on. Without comms etc and a time line.

Sorry I asked.

if you bored read this

It covers the how and the time to "restart"

When power is produced

You can't say ok SA needs 31000mw switch on 31000mw

The load and supply has to come up together ie get a bit of capacity online get some load on it , then get some more production online get more load

Continue this song and dance until we are back to what it was

Now yes thanks to all the loadshedding prep , everything won't grind to a halt

But yea there might be a lot that does , if just based on battery backup that needs eskom

In this scenario generator backups has advantage as long as we have fuel to sustain them

Hope we don't get to experience what it is like to get it up again

I suppose the start up time depends on how much dump loads there is , ie the more dump load you can handle the quicker you can power up stuff

I suppose round about then they will beg us to have those geysers switches on
