Hi Guys

For anyone who has this phone (Blackview BV9000 pro) Im keen to hear your opinion over long term use. It receives a 4.5 out of 5 rating on various sites but who believes what you read on the internet?

I do allot of water related activities and have drowned a number of phones so Im looking for something that can survive an accidental drop in water.

Im thinking of buying local at R8250 odd from RuggedSA, or Drop ship it for R5500 (all in). Its the usual game of is R2750 worth it to buy local?

Thanks in advance

There's alot of reviews online.

Anyway, Blackview has operations in SA, try and contact them to find out if they will honour the warranty if you import.

I looked at the BV9000 pro and opted for the Doogee S60 instead + very happy with it.

Phone + shipping + import tax was just over R4k (from GearBest)

I heard the S60 was problematic. I went for the S50 instead R3300 from SunSky, should arrive soon.

I've been using Doogee phones for many years now. They are great value for money.

RuggedSA charge double what it costs to import a phone even with vat and duty. Don't be mistaken that their local support is local warranty either.
As a wholesaler, Rugged SA can only offer problem-solving for faulty products which either shipped in an unsatisfactory condition or developed internal faults naturally during usage without issues of physical damage or unsupported usage.

thanks for the comments guys. Appreciate it

Still looking for anyone with 9000 pro feedback

response from rugged:

Thank you for your response.

The warranty is for 12 months and covers all and any manufacturer fault.

Thank you,

Thank you,

You need to change the web site then. Still shows the quote I posted above one click from the landing page under Warranty and Returns item 2

Im not Rugged SA, just posted what their reply to me was on email

From what I can get from their website the devices have a 12 month manufacturer's warranty (i.e after 14 days it's return to manufacturer) and only local problem-solving support. I would make sure that they explain it, in writing, exactly what support they give.

maybe RuggedSA could clarify?

So i landed up going with the Blackview BV9000 Pro, got it through Sunsky and landed the phone all in for R4500. Two weeks with Aramex

Still early days but the phone is brilliant. super fast, tons of storage, great cameras....why have i been spending 10k on a phone all my life.

Yes when the phone gives issues there is no one local but I have 4k to work with sending it back to china for repairs, which im hopeful wont happen as the phone is supposed to be indestructible.

Lets see in a year or so we'll have a better picture of the overall experience.

I also ended up going for the BV9000 Pro from Sunsky. Delivered within 3days with DHL. Will definitely not support local anymore. Blackview SA says they will only look after the warranty if bought through them. Nonetheless rather just repair yourself or as Dairyfarmer says just buy a new one every year. But so far a really awesome phone. Camera is great....battery life is awesome. Very happy.
