Blank screen when sending whatsapp photos

Recently when I'm trying to upload whatsapp photos (directly with camera or from gallery), the screen goes blank for about 10 seconds before I can preview and send the pic. What could be causing this. There's no new update from the playstore available.

What phone does this happen on? try clearing whatsapp's caches.

s10+. Cleared cache- didn't help
