Blank youtube on my Mac?

Nothing happens, just a blank black screen ? Been a week now, how do I fix it ? Titles come up, viewed x times etc, everything is there but just a black pic, no loading , no sound.

Had that on my pc earlier this week. Seems like it went away by itself. Not that's the answer you need though.
 
Problem maybe in that I opened new accounts trying to get it working. How do I close them if not needed? You think I should just wait? Loads of queries today on the apple website in USA so I'm not alone.

What browser? Firefox?
 
I changed to firefox somehow. A video played but all my other sites took twice as long to open and some really needed clicking, pushing and shoving to open? Went back to safari and they all open chop chop but no video? Aaargh !
 
Works in Safari, I saw the video. little worried about the speakers ? Did he say the sound disappears?
 
i dont think that is HTML5 related, been using it for a while now with youtube and I haven't had any sound issues on my macbook. Has to be something with the version of Flash you are running on your machine that has stopped the videos from playing. Not sure what % of youtube vids play in HTML5, but if you really wanna watch sponsored vids with ads you will have to try a different version to the one you're running. Try grab it from Adobe's website.
 
Thanks very much. I only watch a few wildlife vids on the various forums. Just seen 2 and full screen worked fine so I'll hold thumbs.

Adblock+ started blocking the in-youtube pre-roll ads a while back, and that sometimes have that effect.
 
The Apple forums told me to click '32bit' in Safari info panel and everything is working again ! hope it stays that way. Now I only need to know how to watch a video without the stuttering caused by my crappy 384 line ? Any other pensioners out there? Maybe an unknown Gov. grant to poor web surfers? There must be a trick or 2 to share?

When the video starts playing, pause it. You'll see the light red progress bar increase slowly. Let it go all the way to the end - that's the buffer. Once it's done, resume the video.
 
Ok, enough of this bit of this and a bit of that ! You're a bit above my head.
