I am currently using a blaster (an Ellies one iirc) to able to switch channels on my DSTV decoder from upstairs. This part is working as expected. However there is unexpected behaviour which I think is caused by having the same brand TVs.

Downstairs I have a Samsung Plasma and upstairs I have a Samsung LCD. What happens is that if I use the LCD’s remote, the blaster seems to pick up the signal and transmits it to the Plasma downstairs.

Any thoughts on how I can solve this situation?

well you can try the following which is to adjust the aerials a bit, pushing them down a bit - if they are all out their reception is very strong. also try and move them a bit away from the tv facing to your bedroom. Hope this help you.

Had the same problem. You just have to position the transmitting "eye" such that it can't see the tv and only see the dstv decoder, tape the other transmitter "eyes" closed with black tape so no other signal gets out.
