Hi all,

i saw a eye specialist 2 days ago and got diagnosed with blepharitis and very bad dry eyes.

So my eyes are always red and itchy ,at times they look bloodshot and start to swell a bit up.

Does anyone have this and what are you using to treat it?

Thanks in advance :)

They advice that was given by the doctor is ĂŻt's something you got to live with, try and use natural tears eye drops to keep your eyes wet"

i feel this can't be it?I did get the drops and gel(used at night) ,but it helps a little but red and itchy eyes are still there,Oh as well omega 3 to help

You do get a gel called Blephagel which helps a lot but I'm going to jump right in with the allergy suggestion.

My eyes itch, water and swell up after I eat bread. Are you allergic to anything?

Jip bread is one,and i tend not to eat it at all anymore,my foods are quite in order as i try to live healthy

so to help you understand,i was on prednisone for year (i know this is bad)With that in mind my body was use to getting the pills and never needed to produce anti-everything haha, now that i left the pills in a 2 month cycle my sinuses and asthma worked with the new medication but my eyes don't seems to agree with the dropping of cortisone.

I have anterior blepharitis, it's never really bothered me.
But I've just googled it, never knew it could be so bad!!! Yikes!
Good luck.

haha thanks, yeah with dropping cortisone it's terrible and some people cant even look at you as they feel their eyes burning :p

Yup I suffer from the same thing, but I think I've got it under control.
What I feel made the biggest difference, on my computers I have installed 2 applications:
1. Workrave http://www.workrave.org/ reminds you to take a break and blink every 20 minutes or so of work
2. Flux https://justgetflux.com/ which makes your screen colours warmer at night.

Other things that I do:
- Wash my eyes once daily with something called Navibleph. You can get it from Dischem.
- I've stopped using all types of eyedrops and false tears. I feel they just make the problem worse.
- Try drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
- Take an Omega 3 supplement daily.
